We started buying golf clubs in bulk. Which the buy cost is way lower than if we found them at thrift stores. Also saves us time not having to drive around looking for clubs. We have over 6,000 right now. 😂 We've done Amazon & Walmart pallets and there's been nothing but junk. Not to mention the amount of time we spent going through them. With those, you have to buy several to find one that is profitable. Not for us. Always a good question to ask yourself, "What if thrift stores went away?" Always diversify where you find inventory.

Technically, writing on paper money isn’t illegal, but it does deface the currency, which is prohibited by federal law. Any intentional damage to U.S. currency renders it unfit to be reissued, so writing on bills is generally inadvisable1. However, everyday activities like jotting down a phone number on a dollar bill or businesses stamping advertisements on notes are common and rarely prosecuted. The primary concern is to prevent significant damage that affects the currency’s usability and longevity in circulation1. So, while it’s technically against the law, small markings or writings without the intent to harm the bill’s reusability are generally overlooked1. 🤓

I am a former landlord and trust me sell that house and don’t look back. Even if you think you are “picking” the right tenants, there will be a point that you will have to reinvest all that earned money back into the property. It works out for some people but my experience is just don’t get into the headache.

I started volunteering at a local thrift store that gets a lot of high end items. They had a new volunteer who priced things based on what she found on eBay so it caused a back log of items and very angry shoppers. I volunteered to change that and price things to sell fast so we never had to turn down a donation. I also voiced that we should encourage resellers, because they come with cash, shop fast and help our sell through rate. We now focus more on selling fast instead of squeezing out every penny. Last year we donated $520,000 to a local mental health non profit. We hope to hit one million this year.

We have bought 3 storage units since February and we're hooked! First unit was amazing! Paid $570, kept $2000 worth of stuff, profited another $5k with another 3-4k worth of stuff to sell. Second unit was also pretty good. Paid $300, made about 1k so far with some high end cameras and RC plane stuff left to list. Most recent unit paid $300 and sold a washer dryer for $300 in the first week so everything's profit. Not nearly as much sellable stuff, lots of donations put on the side of the road and people flocked to it. But we'll still get about 2k by the end of it. Looking for our 4th unit...

Although it took longer to source items from regular thrift stores, it would be interesting to see if your profits would be higher than bins items! I would imagine your profits would be higher which could make the extra time worth it but not certain

My local thrift stores are all for-profit. They have all started checking values on anything that looks even remotely interesting. I sometimes see Brooks Brothers shirts with $20 to $40 price tags mixed in with the "normal" $6-$8 shirts. Quite discouraging.

Great thrift always. Well, i think "what not" and posh mark and temu is fine. Goodwill finds profit from reseller. I think the goodwill wants to sell direct to the customers better to increase their profits. Most of those items in goodwill is contribute from ppl who wants to get rid of instead to the land field. Im in asia country even i shop at bundle shops (thrift store)often find good and bad items. They increase the price in few months because there are mostly ship in bundles from china,thailand,india,taiwan,germany,england..etc. Their store price can increase but they will put on sales with discounts if not good sales.👍💯😄

You also need to be able to pivot when your sources change! Just this week a local Amazon Bins Spot store (which is actually part of a chain) abruptly closed their doors permanently. They had only been open for less than 6 months. It was a good store that had a different, unique model (shoe days, clothes days, general merch days) and they stayed busy! I myself had sourced shoes and other good items that turned fairly quickly for me. It was nice to have a source for name brand shoes in New/Like New condition to sell. So they're gone now. But actually, I've curtailed my buying to try to get listed what I already have, and only buy when it's a great deal or a quality item with good return potential. My glut of stuff has allowed me to be more picky, and I'm learning that some of the stuff in my death pile were not good buys, hence being more selective. But then, just tonight I bought a Starbucks mug that looked to be good but my phone was dying so I didn't research long enough. Got home, found out not great sell thru, and not as high comps as what came up just before the phone died. You live, you learn.

Real estate agent here ✋️ If you rent, consider 55+ tenants only, for many reasons. Make sure you use the legal terminology needed for your area and your chances of getting good, stable, paying renters that won't destroy your property goes WAY up. Also, many of our elders are having to relocate out of the cities and need safe places to rent with great landlords that wont strand them. Best wishes!

so youre both right and wrong at the same time about this, when you say 90% of pokemon cards arent worth much, youre right. thats whats called "bulk" their none rare recent cards, but like saying only 10% of baseball cards the % is low but the number is Huge, like any cards out there they have been printing and discontinuing them for YEARS theres cards worth barely 5$ theres cards been known to sale for 7 figures, the thing with pokemon like any niche like games, cards, comics, collectibles, vintage items, etc etc if you dont know what your looking at you will most likely get burnt, also Those burger king cards arent cards lol their 23k gold plated slabs, and if you have the blue box version sealed they go between $100-$200

I haven't been in my local Ill Will in over a week. They're overpriced, sell only leftover things not sent to online auction, and there's only something worth buying one day in three anyway...if you get there by 10AM. Otherwise forget it. No bins within my medically restricted range - about 90 minutes away with favorable traffic and crazy highway driving. Estate sales have been getting worse too - high prices and no dickering. When there are any. I only find something regularly at small charity thrifts and even those are sporadic. THey are good places to donate. One legit thrift goldmine closed when Covid hit, never to reopen. I used to score regularly at a place that gave stuff away FREE, but they also went away with Covid. Found literal gold at both. Tag sales are really bad here too; they've been going downhill for a decade unless you need kid stuff. There aren't any before Mother's Day or after the 4th of July, and bad weather or last week's heat warning takes everything off the map. A 30-house sale became a 10-house sale, with only four with anything a reseller could have bought. There are some good ones for another 3/4 weeks in September/October. Maybe. Rummage sales mean really driving, because they're really only in the exurbs these days. I'm honestly glad I gave up selling on line. It is BAD here.
